As I right this I realise I’ve not published a photograph of the mosque this man is praying in. It’s Badshahi mosque in Lahore Pakistan. The most impressive mosque I’ve visited.

The story behind this photograph

I’ve visited many mosques around the world. Architecturally I like them. In Pakistan I found Badshahi Mosque both beautiful on the outside and very humble on the inside.

It can house over 100,000 people in it’s central courtyard. But the actual mosque itself is very small. In here I met many people. All friendly. All welcoming.

This man came and made a point to find himself a lone spot to pray for a while. The sun reached in during this and it just reflected how such a grand place could be so peaceful for just one man.
